“FCMA Annual General Meeting and Symposium 2013" will be held on Sunday 6 October 2013 in Melbourne. The purpose of this annual general meeting is to summarise the past year of the Federation. More importantly, our members have been practicing Chinese medicine for many years in Australia and have accumulated rich experience in practice through academic exchanges and other counterparts. We will create a platform of exchange for everyone in their clinical experience and operational skills. During the Symposium section, members can learn from each other thereby enhancing our members' overall academic and professional quality and to serve the public better. Meanwhile, the members also have an opportunity to communicate with the Board Directors of FCMA. Members who participate in the annual meeting can encounter eight hours of formal continuing professional development (CPD).

FCMA is aware that the Queensland Bill is to be presented to the Queensland parliament to broaden the powers of the Health Ombudsman. FCMA is one of the leading Chinese medicine professional associations and represents Chinese herbal medicine practitioners and acupuncturists across all states in Australia and is also a representative body for all Chinese medicine associations in Professions Reference Group established by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). We have reviewed the Queensland Bill and the changes to the powers of the Ombudsman raise serious concerns.
