Member Application

Full member:

Full membership status applies to all practising members who are registered with Ahpra as a practitioner of Chinese medicine in any or all of the following divisions:

• Registered practitioner of acupuncture
• Registered practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine
• Registered practitioner of Chinese herbal dispensing

Full membership also applies to practitioners of tuina or massage therapy who meet the qualification criteria

Documents required:

You will need to submit a completed and signed application form (please download from that link - you will need to have Adobe PDF Reader or similar) and certified copies of original documents as listed here:

1. 1. Certified copies of your graduation certificate and academic transcript (please do not send originals)
2. 2. For registered practitioners, your Ahpra number and evidence of current registration. (That might be a certificate downloaded from the Ahpra website, or a screen shot of the register bearing your name and details.)
3. 3. For remedial massage therapists, a certified copy of your Diploma of Remedial Massage (course code of HLT 50302 or HLT 50307 or HLT 52015 or HLT 52021), academic transcript (please do not send originals) and a statement from the course provider confirms the course has meet requirements of remedial massage set by the private health funds.
4. 4. Certified copy of Certificate of Currency for Professional Indemnity insurance (PII) with cover that complies with Ahpra registration requirements (Please send other documents is you have not PII, a FCMA number will be allocated for you once a preliminary assessment is completed)
5. 5. Certified copy of current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) which must include components of Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009) and Provide basic emergency life support (HLTAID002 or HLTAID010) or certified copy of current Senior/Workplace First Aid Certificate. From April 14th, 2022, a certified copy of HLTAID011 only can be accepted

• Documents not written in English must be translated into English by a NAATI professional translator.
• It is the discretion of FCMA for approval or not approval any application.

Please post your completed and signed application form and supporting documents to the FCMA branch of your state of residence. Contact details for state branches appear below. The state branch will contact you within 30 days. Please contact the state branch directly if you have any enquiry of the application
